BENEFITS OF BECOMING A THREE DOLLAR BILL CINEMA VOLUNTEER When you volunteer for TDBC, you will: HOW VOLUNTEERS HELP US We have the typical nonprofit mailing party and data entry positions but we also need volunteers to assist with more long-term volunteer positions such as planning, organizing and executing special events; editing text for the program book; maintaining our computer and accounting systems; distributing PR materials around town; serving on our screening committee and greeting festival guests and dignitaries. We consider volunteers who help with long term opportunities to be "Volunteer Staff." One of the benefits of being volunteer staff is receiving a full pass to the festival. JUST WANT TO TAKE TICKETS? You don't have to be a professional marketing director or computer geek to volunteer. We have over 900 volunteer positions to fill the week of the festival that involve taking tickets, ushering, helping to clean the theatre, serving drinks and running errands. If you're interested in some of our more "low key" volunteer positions send an email or call our office at (206) 323-4274 or volunteer at seattlequeerfilm.org and you'll be added to our volunteer database. If you want to see what shifts are available and sign up for them, just go to the Volunteer Sign-up Tool at http://www.seattlequeerfilm.org/volunteer/. VOLUNTEER STAFF POSITIONS Volunteer staff positions are unpaid, but are an opportunity to gain valuable job experience that can be added to your resume to better qualify you for a position in the film industry and/or with the LGBT community. Students may also be able to receive credit as an internship and should check with advisors or department chairs for procedures and requirements. Volunteer staff may also receive a pass to our festival in October or other combinations of vouchers and festival swag. We are currently soliciting resumes for the following Volunteer Staff positions: |
